Sherbrooke musical sound changed respectively on 10 4.5 FM and 107.7 FM
Montréal, February 1, 2011 – To comply with the December 17, 2010 decision of the Canadian
Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and the common ownership policy
limiting the number of FM radio stations that can be operated by any one owner in a given market,
COGECO Inc. (TSX: CGO) confirmed that it will be required to divest the FM station broadcasting
on frequency 104.5 MHz in Sherbrooke by December 16, 2011. The name of this station is now
Radio Sherbrooke inc. and its official call sign is CJTS-FM.
Due to today’s closing of the transaction to purchase the Corus Québec radio stations and pending
the sale of Radio Sherbrooke inc., the “Souvenirs garantis” musical sound has moved to 104.5 FM,
while the “CKOI” musical sound is now on 107.7 FM. Listeners in the Eastern Townships may
immediately find their favourite music station by tuning in to the corresponding FM frequency.
COGECO announces that control and the day-to-day management of Radio Sherbrooke inc.
(CJTS-FM 104.5 MHz) is transferred to a trustee effective February 1, 2011 under the terms of a
voting trust arrangement approved by the CRTC. The trustee, Mr. Fernand Belisle, will manage
radio broadcasting undertaking Radio Sherbrooke inc. (CJTS-FM 104.5 MHz) effective
immediately, and oversee operations in the normal course of business while beginning the sale
process. Interested parties should contact the trustee directly at 819-743-6613.
