Community Involvement

The CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation and its partners, including Rythme, are kicking off the 16th edition of Saint-Justine’s Tree of Lights, an original idea presented by our music station. Until December 7, the population of Quebec is invited to light up hope for the children, families and teams at Sainte-Justine by purchasing lights. This year's goal is to make the Tree of Lights shine bright with 550,000 lights, in support of the Sainte-Justine UHC's great ambitions for the health of the province's children.

Once again this year, we are proud to support the annual Centraide of Greater Montreal campaign. 

In many regions of Quebec, Ontario and the rest of Canada, Centraide supports a network of organizations and community projects that help thousands of vulnerable people. Embodying our daily values, Centraide and the cause it supports have been close to our hearts for a long time, allowing us to make a real difference in our communities.

Cogeco Connexion is proud to support the St-Philippe de Trois-Rivières and Gamache de Sept-Îles elementary schools with checks valued at over $15,000, thanks to the Défi Pierre Lavoie. This donation will help support physical activity and create healthy lifestyle habits among children.

We're particularly proud of our partnership with Nature Conservancy of Canada, which enables us to help preserve natural environments that are essential to our regions' flora and fauna.

The Nature Conservancy of Canada recently acquired the Boisé Carillon in Saint-André-d'Argenteuil, which will enable the restoration and protection of natural environments, as well as improving knowledge of these ecosystems to better guide the organization's future actions on this territory.

YourTV Cornwall proudly hosted the 15th Annual Telethon for Carefor Hospice Cornwall. TheTelethon is the hospice’s biggest fundraising event of the year, and this year marked a great success! The live event raised $114,500.30, but calls continued to pour in after the event aired, leading to a total of $118,400! This amounted to almost $12,000 more than what was raised last year!

As a partner of the 23rd edition of the Grand Bal des Vins-Cœurs, organized to benefit the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, we are proud to have contributed to raising a total of $1.38 million. This donation will go to helping the Montreal Heart Institute continue its innovative drive to advance the medicine of tomorrow. Thank you to the 900 people who joined us in supporting the cause of cardiovascular health!

In line with our constant goal of making a significant and lasting difference in our communities, we are proud to partner with La rue des Femmes as part of its major campaign “More than a roof…cure homelessness”, which provides homeless women with accommodation and transition services, specialized care, and supports the creation of the very first relational health research center.

Together we can truly create a positive impact.

On September 23, hundreds of Cogeco and Breezeline employees took part in our third annual 1Cogeco Community Involvement Day!

This initiative, which is an important component of Cogeco's ongoing commitment to community engagement and sustainability practices, acted as an occasion to clean up trails and shorelines in 17 communities, removing several tons of waste and plastic pollution. Our commitment supported 14 non-profit organizations in Ontario, Quebec and the United States.
