Richard J. Shea, Atlantic Broadband President & CEO, Named Cablefax 100 Regional Honoree (en anglais seulement)

Honor recognizes top executives in the cable industry for leadership and achievement

QUINCY, Mass., March 21, 2019 – Richard J. Shea, President and CEO of Atlantic Broadband, a subsidiary of Cogeco Communications Inc., has been named a Cablefax 100 Regional Honoree for 2019.

The list, compiled by Cablefax, a leading cable and telecommunications industry publication, recognizes top professionals in the media, cable and broadband industry for their vision, leadership and accomplishments, as well as impact on their industry.

The Cablefax 100 is the second major award in the span of a year for the Atlantic Broadband team, building on last year’s recognition by Multichannel News, which named Atlantic Broadband an “Independent Operator of the Year” in 2018.

In the past year, the company under Shea’s leadership completed the acquisition of MetroCast systems in Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia, successfully integrating all operations into a single business unit. The acquisition of FiberLight was also completed in 2018, which more than doubled Atlantic Broadband's existing fiber footprint in South Florida. The company also expanded its Florida presence with almost 10,000 new bulk units.

Atlantic Broadband also launched major product enhancements including substantial internet speed increases for residential and business customers, the expansion of 1 Gig internet, Enhanced WiFi services, and TiVo’s Entertainment Experience with Voice Remote and Amazon Alexa functionality. The company also completed upgrades to its network infrastructure for improved performance and reliability and introduced customer care enhancements, including new self-care options.
