Cogeco operates in the telecommunications and media sectors through its holding corporations Cogeco Inc. and Cogeco Communications Inc. and their respective business units (collectively, the “ Cogeco Group ”).

By aiming for the highest data privacy and security standards, we strive to be a provider, employer and business partner of choice, trusted by our customers, employees and other stakeholders. We ensure that personal information is appropriately protected as well as secure, and used only for the purposes for which it was collected. Our strategy and processes are aligned with four main pillars (Governance, Technology, Process & Culture/People) to ensure that the Cogeco Group has the
capabilities to strive to meet privacy best practices.
We have designed roles and responsibilities to ensure accountability and compliance with privacy legal requirements across the Cogeco Group. We have also implemented policies, procedures, guidelines, business rules and safeguards to ensure that your personal information is adequately protected, that inquiries and complaints relating to privacy are handled timely and properly, and that our employees fully understand the importance of protecting your personal information; accordingly, they are regularly trained on policies, procedures and applicable standards.
We protect personal information disclosed to third parties by contractual agreements requiring that those third parties adhere to confidentiality and security procedures and protections that are, at a minimum, equivalent to those employed by the Cogeco Group itself.
We may share personal information we collect through our infrastructure, systems and technology within the Cogeco Group to provide and improve our products and services.
We are committed to providing transparency with respect to your personal information in clear and simple language, and easy access to the Cogeco Group business units’ terms and privacy policies (as applicable).
We have implemented security safeguards that are designed to protect your personal information against the loss or theft of personal information as well as unauthorized access, use or disclosure. We further undertake to comply with the applicable privacy breach notification and record-keeping requirements.
Our employees have access to your personal information on a strict need to know basis and solely to enable them to perform their duties towards us and to deliver our products or services to you. Our employees must agree to abide by our internal rules of ethics and confidentiality and certify annually that they will comply with them.
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes for which it was collected and for which consent was received, unless otherwise permissible by law. Personal information that is no longer required to fulfil the identified purposes will be destroyed, erased or anonymized.
