Cogeco Cable’s High Speed Internet hits the road with new Wi-Fi access
Montréal, March 9
th
, 2007 — Today Cogeco launched its Wi-Fi Internet access in Ontario with nearly
150 access points spread throughout the Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton areas. As of today, all Cogeco
Cable High Speed Internet (HSI) customers in Ontario will be able to take advantage of this new service,
at no additional charge. For Cogeco HSI customers, accessing the Internet or their email accounts
through their portable wireless devices outside their home or office will now be as simple as logging in
with their Cogeco email address and password, around any of these access points.
“We’re very pleased to bring this new service to our HSI customers,” said Ron Perrotta, Vice President,
Marketing at Cogeco Cable. “Wi-Fi continues to grow in popularity as more and more people need an
Internet connection to work, study or surf on the web in many different locations. We are proud to be the
only major Internet service provider in our markets to provide its customers with Wi-Fi access, at no
additional charge, as part of their HSI subscription.”
Wi-Fi access points have been deployed at strategic sites in Cogeco’s footprint such as cafés,
restaurants, recreation facilities and libraries. Like the F-Secure security suite, Cogeco’s Wi-Fi access
represents an interesting added value for Cogeco’s HSI customers. More details about the service along
with the list of Wi-Fi access points can be found on Cogeco’s website at Coge co.ca/wifi.
