Montreal, November 6, 2013 COGECO Inc. (TSX: CGO) today announced the promotion of
Richard Lachance to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Cogeco Diffusion
Inc. Until recently, Mr. Lachance held the position of Senior Vice President of Cogeco Diff usion.
Richard Lachance holds a wealth of experience in the world of Communications and Media.
After having worked in the television, radio and newspaper industries, he joined the team at
Cogeco in 1999 as General Manager of the Rythme FM network and 93.9 in Quebec, before
being promoted to Vice President, and, subsequently, Senior Vice President of Cogeco
Diffusion.

Diffusion has experienced solid growth, following its acquisitions of Corus Quebec and

Cogeco Diffusion Inc. (“CDI”), a subsidiary of Cogeco Inc. (TSX: CGO), owns and operates 13
radio stations across most of Québec, including Rythme FM, 98.5 in Montreal and 93.3 in
