OVERVIEW

CSR at Cogeco

Cogeco Inc. has engaged in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) journey aimed at operating responsibly and sustainably and being a model of good corporate citizenship. Concretely, this means we seek to integrate practices that improve the environmental and social impacts of our operations, while ensuring the Corporation’s continued development. We continually work to incorporate initiatives that can add significant value to our stakeholders.

2018 Highlights

Over $3.3 million in donations and sponsorships.

Over 30% of customers received electronic bills.

New employees were trained on ethics.

100% of set-top boxes purchased in Canada complied to the CEEVA standards.

No founded privacy complaints and security incidents during fiscal year 2018.

Cogeco remained in the top tier of family-controlled dual-class companies listed on a Canadian stock exchange according to the Globe&Mail’s ranking of corporate governance practices.

We have achieved a GHG emissions reduction of 40% on a per revenue basis based on fiscal 2014 emissions.

Cogeco Connexion was ranked, for a second consecutive year, among Montréal’s top 45 employers for 2018 by Mediacorp Canada.

Cogeco Communications is one of Corporate Knights’ Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada and Cleanest 200 companies in the world.

Materiality assessment

Every two years, Cogeco conducts a materiality assessment in order to identify the most important environmental, social and governance topics for its stakeholders. In 2018, Cogeco carried its materiality assessment, in which more than 600 stakeholders were engaged and 11 key topics were identified.
