COGECO CONNEXION ANNOUNCES THE EXPANSION OF ITS FIBRE OPTIC NETWORK IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAINT-JUSTIN

Montreal, January 19, 2017 – Cogeco Connexion is proud to announce an investment of close to half a million dollars for the deployment of a fibre optic network serving hundreds of homes along Gagné and Guérin roads as well as Duchesnay Street in Saint-Justin, located in the Regional County Municipality (RCM) of Maskinongé.

Cogeco Connexion is currently finalizing the various steps leading to the network’s activation, which is slated for mid-January. Thanks to this fibre optic network, which will run directly to their homes, residents will be able to enjoy the full range of Cogeco Connexion services, including television, high-speed Internet and residential telephony.

“The Mauricie region is an extremely important market for Cogeco Connexion and we are proud of expanding our network into the municipality of Saint-Justin,” stated Johanne Hinse, Vice President, Sales, Consumer Market and Community Relations at Cogeco Connexion.

She went on to add: “At Cogeco, proximity to the communities we serve is an integral part of our basic values, and we are proud of offering the municipality’s residents access to a powerful, reliable and affordable Internet network.”

The mayor of Saint-Justin, Jean-Claude Gauthier, expressed his delight with Cogeco Connexion’s announcement: “Today, access to a reliable and affordable Internet network is essential for ensuring our citizens’ quality of life, particularly in municipalities located outside major urban centres. This investment is excellent news for Saint-Justin and its residents, and we would like to highlight Cogeco’s collaboration on this project.”

“The expansion of our network into growth markets is one of our business priorities,” stated Daniel Boisvert, Vice President, Marketing and Innovation, Cogeco Connexion. “We are pleased to extend our services to the citizens of Saint-Justin, giving them access to a reliable and competitive offering, providing a peerless connectivity and entertainment experience.”

Citizens newly served by the fibre optic network – deployed in partnership with TGV Net Mauricie – will enjoy the full range of Cogeco services, including subscription to TiVoTM, a multi-television recorder capable of recording up to six HD programs simultaneously, and the viewing of online content with direct access to Netflix, YouTube and Facebook. Cogeco Connexion will also offer a range of telephony and high-speed Internet services with download speeds of up to 120 megabits per second and, in some packages, unlimited data transfer capacity.

Cogeco Connexion will be contacting residents directly over the coming weeks. For further information on Cogeco Connexion’s services, citizens can go to cogeco.ca or call 1 800 665-5151.
